About Kinderwood
Our Story
Established in 1969, The Kinderwood Program in Old Forge, NY, is a nonprofit Montessori preschool dedicated to fulfilling the cognitive, affective, and practical developmental needs of preschool children in the Central Adirondacks. We aim to create a learning environment that sparks curiosity and a love for exploration in a natural setting.
Our Impact
For 50 years, Kinderwood has been a staple of the Central Adirondack community. The program, started by Mirnie Kashiwa, has educated over 1,000 youth since its inception giving them a place to learn, grow and play. This one of a kind not-for-profit organization would not be possible without the support of our generous donors.
